THE FAMILY SEVEN-SEATER THAT EARNS ITS PRICE
Seven seats, a 1.6L turbo, and a 1,930L boot with the third row folded. The Tiggo 8 at RM129,800 is the straightforward proposition: a proper 7-seater that doesn’t ask you to sacrifice practicality for price. The third row folds flat when you don’t need it and fits two adults when you do. The body uses 74% high-strength steel. The ADAS package covers the highway basics. This is the car for families that have outgrown a 5-seater and need something that simply works.

Main Highlights
SEVEN SEATS, BUILT TO LAST
The Tiggo 8's exterior is proportioned for a 7-seater — longer, higher, more substantial than the 7 PRO. The LED light signature is distinctive without being aggressive, and the chrome trim elements around the grille and windows give it a finish that reads as more expensive than the price suggests. In the car park next to a Japanese 7-seater from the same segment, it holds its own.
A CABIN THAT WORKS FOR ALL SEVEN
Second-row seats slide and recline to balance legroom between the second and third rows. Third-row access is straightforward — the second row tumbles forward easily. Air conditioning vents serve all three rows, which matters in Malaysian weather. The 12.3-inch digital cluster and 15.6-inch infotainment display are properly responsive, and the sound system is adequate for family trips without needing an upgrade.
1.6L TURBO, 7-SPEED DCT
197 PS and 290 Nm from the 1.6L TGDI, matched to a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox. With seven people aboard the power-to-weight ratio is still workable — highway merges and overtaking don't feel laboured. Around town the DCT handles well in light traffic. On Karak or the PLUS heading north with a full load, it manages without complaint.
SAFETY SPEC FOR A FAMILY SUV
74% high-strength steel in the body structure, six airbags covering front and side positions, ADAS with automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, and a 540° panoramic camera for parking. For a 7-seater carrying children in the rear two rows, the camera and blind spot systems are practical daily-use features rather than optional extras that rarely get used.
